Pictures drawn for your question

When words aren't enough, Why Tho? offers a short picture that teaches the idea, step by step. It isn't stock clip art: each picture is drawn for your question, written as code that paints a canvas, and checked before it reaches you.

How a picture is made

  1. Plan. An art director plans the picture: the subject, the steps and what each one should show.
  2. Draw. A writer turns the plan into code that draws every frame on a canvas.
  3. Check. The picture is rendered in a real browser and its frames are looked at by picture judges, which check that it's accurate, readable and good-looking.
  4. Fix. Anything that fails gets redrawn. A first good draft shows early, and a better one replaces it.

When you get one

Ask for it ("show me", "draw it"), or Why Tho? offers one when a picture clearly beats words, or when you've said "I don't get it" twice about the same idea.
